Social Media Engagement
I was doing social media on TV before it was a thing.
In 2010, I launched Facebook Fan Shout-Outs
Every morning, I’d throw 3 new followers’ names on the weather wall, turning another forecast into something people tuned in for. — turning viewers into loyal fans.
I didn’t just post — I created real-time, two-way TV
I used milestones to drive growth. For example, when I hit 2,500 fans, I did a stunt — a tricycle race live on air. After losing, I got hit in the face with a cream pie. It was great TV.
It wasn't business — It was personal
The more I posted, made smoke signals, sent paper messages via a very well-trained pigeon, about my day — on and off the camera, I was building connection.
